I've seen it way too often. I always wondered if it was the propane being on (hot water heater/fridge) during travel. I used to have one (not that big) and I put an inverter on the fridge so I could turn the propane off while we were driving.
Something inside falls and bumps the gas valve on the stove inside? Nothing you can do... unless the propane tanks were off in the first place!

It's supposed to be 'safe'. But what else sets these things on fire like that?
The propane lines are literally just black iron pipes running along the frame (at least that's what it looks like to me). Whose to say it couldn't rust or be punctured by a semi-tread or other debris... there's crazy stuff on the highway sometimes.
